Gifts that Give Back

There's nothing better than buying a gift that ends up blessing multiple people.  So, I decided to look for some gifts that are not only great ideas for family and friends, but also support greater causes that are helping to change the world for the better.  The first cause that I'll write about is the MD Anderson Cancer Center Children's Art Project.  The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the premier cancer centers in the world, offering state of the art research, education, and care for those battling cancer.  These great gifts are inspired by the artwork of kids who are fighting cancer and the proceeds help fund awesome programs that make their world a little brighter in the midst of their daily battles against cancer.

This "Groovy Hearts" plate - only $28 - is such a fun platter to serve on all year round.  I own one myself and it makes me smile every time I use it.

This iPhone 4 "love" cover - only $35 - is adorable.  They have several designs to offer, for both the i4 and 3G versions of the iPhone.

The Animal Parade baby romper - $15 - is a great baby gift for a boy or girl.  They come in sizes from newborn up to 12-18 months.

These beautiful Orange Blossoms note cards - just $8 for 10 cards and envelopes - are the perfect little gift for someone who practices the precious art of sending hand written notes.  They make great thank you notes, birthday cards, etc.  There are hundreds of note card styles to choose from, including holiday photo cards, so check it out...www.childrensart.org.

I love this large glass Butterfly Ornament - $68 - covered in sparkles.  At almost 8" long and 5" wide, it would make quite the statement on any Christmas tree.  Can't you just imagine the adorable little girl who designed it with such detail?

This silk Lion Necktie - only $35 - is super cute for any dad, uncle, or grandfather who is young at heart.  Not at all obnoxious, like the beloved annual Santa tie, this tie still looks classic and even refined at a distance.

Next time I cover gifts, I'll write about some wonderful ideas from another organization that I love to support - Ten Thousand Villages.  -Kristen
